well I congratulate you on taking the right step ,first of all you have to know what you intend building on the plot assuming the site is flat .
Lets take for instance you want to have a three bedroom bungalow, you should have a sketch or an idea of how you want your real home to be and you discuss this with your Architect who will inturn express this your ideas to a functional drawing which is at the presentation stage.
when you have agreed on the design the Architect will develop this preliminary design to Architectural working drawings which the builder will use to work with on site
please note before construction can start on site ,your drawings has to be submitted to the Town planning authority for approval, that is the law.it always good to start with what you have gradually more income will come to you and you can complete the project ,always start with what you have now do not wait for a million naira to start.
